The President of the United States, Donald Trump, has suggested that his administration could shift its attention to Cuba after the ongoing conflict involving Iran.
Trump made the remarks on Thursday at the White House while hosting players and officials of Inter Miami CF, winners of the 2025 Major League Soccer title.
During the reception, the U.S. leader spoke about the ongoing military operations involving the United States and its ally Israel against Iran.
According to Trump, the current priority of his administration remains the situation surrounding Iran, but attention could later shift to Cuba once the present conflict is resolved.
Addressing the gathering, which included several individuals with Cuban roots, Trump referenced developments concerning the island nation and suggested that Americans may soon return there.
“What’s happening with Cuba is amazing. We think that we want to fix, finish this one first, but that will be just a question of time before you and a lot of unbelievable people are going to be going back to Cuba, hopefully not to stay,” he said.
His comments appeared to indicate that Washington may consider addressing issues related to Cuba after concluding its current military campaign linked to the crisis involving Iran.
The remarks come amid rising tensions in the Middle East, where the United States and Israel have continued military operations connected to Iran as the conflict enters another week and continues to draw global attention.
