The Delta State Bursary and Scholarship Board has announced that the disbursement of the 2024/2025 Students Special Assistance Scheme, popularly known as the Bursary Award, will commence on March 10, 2026.

The announcement was made in a public service statement issued in Asaba by the Executive Secretary of the Board, Godfrey O. Enita.

According to the statement, the payment is specifically meant for eligible students of Delta State origin currently studying in tertiary institutions across Nigeria who successfully completed the registration and verification process for the 2024/2025 bursary programme.

The board explained that the bursary scheme is part of the Delta State Government’s efforts to support the education and welfare of its students studying in higher institutions across the country.

Dr. Enita also expressed appreciation to the Governor of Delta State, Sheriff Oborevwori, for his continued support for students and commitment to improving educational development in the state.

He noted that the bursary programme aligns with the governor’s M.O.R.E Agenda, which prioritises human capital development and educational advancement.

The board encouraged beneficiaries to remain committed to their academic pursuits and continue to uphold the values of excellence and integrity associated with Delta State.

The bursary scheme remains one of the key educational support initiatives of the Delta State Government aimed at reducing the financial burden on students and improving access to quality higher education for indigenes of the state.
