The United Kingdom government has released the official itinerary for the upcoming state visit of Nigeria’s President, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, to Windsor Castle, scheduled to take place from March 17 to March 19.
According to details released by British authorities, the visit will feature a mix of ceremonial events, bilateral engagements, and meetings aimed at strengthening diplomatic relations between Nigeria and the United Kingdom.
Preparations for the visit are expected to begin on March 17, with security checks, traffic adjustments, and rehearsals for the ceremonial procession. Officials say the arrangements are part of efforts to ensure the smooth conduct of what is being described as a significant diplomatic engagement between both countries.
President Tinubu is expected to arrive officially on March 18, where he will be received by Prince William and Catherine, Princess of Wales.

A formal welcome ceremony will be held on Datchet Road, featuring the playing of the national anthems of Nigeria and the United Kingdom, as well as an inspection of a guard of honour.
Following the ceremony, the Nigerian president will take part in a ceremonial carriage procession to Windsor Castle, where he will be received by King Charles III and Queen Camilla.
During the visit, the British monarch and the Queen Consort are expected to host the Nigerian leader at the castle, with several diplomatic engagements and discussions planned as part of the programme.
President Tinubu will be accompanied by the First Lady, Oluremi Tinubu, throughout the two-day visit.
The trip marks the first state visit by a Nigerian president to the United Kingdom in 37 years and is being seen as an important step toward strengthening diplomatic, economic, and political ties between both nations.
The visit follows an official invitation extended to President Tinubu by Buckingham Palace earlier in February 2026.
