Delta State Governor, Sheriff Oborevwori, has described the five-year reign of the Olu of Warri, Ogiame Atuwatse III, as a period of renewed glory, peace, unity and development for the Itsekiri people, Warri and Delta State.
Oborevwori, speaking at the monarch’s fifth coronation anniversary, commended him for his leadership and support for the development of the state.
The Governor also appealed to all ethnic groups in Warri to preserve the peace and unity that have characterised their coexistence, urging them to shun inflammatory statements and divisive tendencies.
He disclosed that the Ode-Itsekiri Road project, which includes more than 15 bridges, has been completed and will soon be commissioned.
The anniversary was attended by Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu; Minister of Arts, Culture, Tourism and Creative Economy, Hannatu Musa Musawa; Delta State House of Assembly Speaker, Emomotimi Guwor; and other dignitaries.
In his remarks, the Olu of Warri attributed the achievements of his five-year reign to God and pledged continued commitment to promoting excellence in Nigeria’s traditional institution and cultural heritage.
