The Federal Government has recorded a major breakthrough in the fight against insurgency, following the rescue of 360 kidnapped victims by troops of Operation Hadin Kai in Borno State.

According to reports, the victims were rescued from the Mandara Mountains after they were abducted during a deadly attack on a military formation in Ngoshe, located in southern Borno State.

The terrorists reportedly invaded the community, overran the military base, set military vehicles ablaze, inflicted casualties, and abducted several residents before fleeing to their hideouts.

The successful rescue operation has been widely welcomed by citizens, who described it as a significant relief for the affected families and a renewed source of hope in the country’s ongoing battle against insecurity.

Many Nigerians have called on the Federal Government and security agencies to intensify efforts to combat insurgency and other forms of criminality across the nation. They stressed that Nigeria must continue to demonstrate its capacity to protect the lives and property of its citizens and should not be perceived as a state unable to address security challenges.

The development is seen as another step in the ongoing efforts to restore peace and stability in the North-East region.
