The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has doubled the winner’s prize for the Women’s Africa Cup of Nations, WAFCON, to 2 million dollars.
The total prize fund has increased by 67 percent to 5.8 million dollars, while every participating team will receive a guaranteed 150,000 dollars, up from 125,000 dollars.
The runners-up will earn 750,000 dollars.
The increase comes as Nigeria’s Super Falcons chase a record-extending 11th WAFCON title in Morocco.

** said, the winner’s prize has grown by 900 percent, rising from 200,000 dollars before his administration.
In previous tournaments, the Federal Government and the Nigeria Football Federation have promised players additional cash rewards and national honours, although some former players have raised concerns over delays in receiving the payments.
