Chairman of the Heirs Holdings, Tony Elumelu, has pledged to partner with the Delta State Government to improve electricity generation and distribution across the state. Speaker at the Delta State Economic and Investment Summit 2026 in Asaba, Elumelu said reliable and affordable power is critical to sustainable development and attracting more investment
He described Delta as a state with enormous economic potential, citing its people, agriculture, waterways, coastal resources and mineral wealth as key strengths. He noted that the real challenge is not the availability of resources, but effective implementation of development plans.
Elumelu also commended the state government’s efforts in promoting investment, saying Delta is safe, welcoming and well-positioned for business growth.
Meanwhile, Chairman of the Presidential Committee on Fiscal Policy and Tax Reforms, Taiwo Oyedele, said ongoing Federal Government reforms are aimed at restoring economic stability and supporting long-term growth.

He explained that foreign exchange reforms, the removal of fuel subsidy and improved fiscal management are designed to strengthen the economy, while tax reforms are expanding government revenue and easing the burden on businesses, particularly small and medium-sized enterprises.
Oyedele added that increased revenues are helping states and local governments invest more in infrastructure and other development projects to improve the lives of citizens.
