Delta State Governor, Sheriff Oborevwori, says the state can no longer depend solely on oil revenue, stressing the strategic investments.
Speaking at the close of the second day of the Delta State Economic and Investment Summit 2026 in Asaba, the governor urged local and international investors to explore opportunities across key sectors of the state’s economy.

He said discussions at the summit highlighted Delta’s strong investment potential in agriculture, livestock development, energy, the blue economy, transport infrastructure, solid minerals, the digital economy and innovation.
Governor Oborevwori noted that expanding investments in these sectors would create jobs, support business growth and improve the standard of living for residents.
He added that the summit was designed as a private sector-driven initiative to connect investors with viable business opportunities capable of delivering sustainable returns.
