The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has conducted a coordinated airstrike on suspected terrorist positions in Guduf, a settlement in the Mandara Mountains along Nigeria’s northeastern border
The operation, carried out on April 27, 2026, forms part of ongoing counter-terrorism efforts under Operation Hadin Kai.
In a statement, the Director of Public Relations and Information, Air Commodore Ehimen Ejodame, said the strike followed credible intelligence backed by surveillance reports, which confirmed the presence of insurgent structures and logistics hubs in the area.
He explained that air assets were deployed to engage the identified targets, noting that the operation was executed with precision.
According to Ejodame, the strike successfully destroyed key facilities used by the insurgents, thereby weakening their operational capacity.
He added that the mission adhered strictly to established rules of engagement, with deliberate efforts made to protect civilians and minimise environmental impact.
The Air Force further stated that the Mandara Mountains—spanning parts of Adamawa and Borno states and extending into Cameroon—remain a known stronghold for insurgent groups.
The NAF emphasised that the latest strike demonstrates its continued commitment to denying terrorists freedom of movement and strengthening security operations across the region.
The military also reaffirmed its resolve to sustain offensive actions aimed at degrading insurgent capabilities and ensuring national security.
