Dangote Petroleum Refinery has resumed the sale of petrol in Naira, ending its temporary dollar-pricing policy after government intervention.
The refinery also announced a new ex-depot price of ₦1,215 per litre for Premium Motor Spirit, also known as petrol, an increase of ₦140 from the previous price of ₦1,075 per litre.
The brief switch to dollar pricing had disrupted fuel loading and raised concerns among independent marketers over foreign exchange risks, leading to supply challenges in parts of the downstream sector.
The refinery says the new ex-depot price reflects the current exchange rate and fluctuations in global crude oil prices while helping to stabilise domestic fuel supply.
Following the policy reversal, private depots and the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL) have begun adjusting their prices, with NNPCL recently raising its pump price to ₦1,335 per litre in several parts of the country.
