Passengers travelling on the rail line between Kaduna and Abuja were left stranded on Monday morning after a commercial passenger train reportedly collided with another train along the corridor.
The incident involved a train operating on the Abuja–Kaduna Railway, which was conveying passengers from Kaduna to Abuja at the time of the collision.
According to passengers on board the service, the Abuja-bound train reportedly ran into another train on the track, forcing an immediate halt to operations along the route.
The collision, which occurred in the early hours of Monday, disrupted movement on the busy rail corridor and left several travellers unable to continue their journey to the Federal Capital Territory.
Some passengers said the sudden stop created confusion and delays as railway officials began efforts to assess the situation and restore normal operations.
As of the time of filing this report, authorities had yet to release full details regarding the cause of the collision. Information about possible casualties or the extent of damage to the trains also remained unclear.
Officials are expected to carry out further investigations to determine the circumstances surrounding the incident and ensure the safety of passengers using the rail service.
My God, this is quite sad!
