President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the First Lady, Oluremi Tinubu, have returned to Lagos where they are observing the Sallah celebration following an official visit to the United Kingdom.

The President arrived in Lagos on Thursday night after departing Abuja on Tuesday, March 17, for the high-level visit to the UK, where he was hosted by King Charles III and Queen Camilla.

During the visit, President Tinubu and his delegation were received at Windsor Castle, where a series of engagements took place between Wednesday, March 18, and Thursday, March 19.

The visit underscored the longstanding relationship between Nigeria and the United Kingdom, with discussions focused on strengthening bilateral ties in key areas including trade, immigration, investment, and cultural exchange.

As part of the engagements, the President and the First Lady were taken on a guided tour of a special exhibition showcasing items from the Royal Collection linked to Nigeria, reflecting the historical connections between both nations.

President Tinubu also held private meetings with King Charles III and participated in sessions involving organizations committed to interfaith dialogue at both national and international levels.

The visit featured a state banquet hosted by the Royal Family in honour of the Nigerian leader. It also culminated in the signing of several Memoranda of Understanding and agreements aimed at deepening cooperation between Nigeria and the United Kingdom.

Following the visit, the President is expected to spend the Sallah holiday in Lagos before resuming official duties.
