The United States has condemned the July 27 attack on a community in Kaduna State that claimed the lives of at least 30 people, including children.
The U.S. Bureau of African Affairs, in a statement posted on its official X account, described the incident as another tragic development in the region’s prolonged security crisis.
The Bureau called on President Bola Tinubu’s administration to intensify efforts to tackle the persistent killings, kidnappings and attacks on vulnerable communities across Nigeria’s Middle Belt.
It also expressed sympathy to families who lost loved ones in the attack and renewed its call for stronger measures to protect communities affected by violence.
The statement added that the United States extends its condolences to the bereaved families and urged the Nigerian Government to address the ongoing violence against Christian communities in the Middle Belt. It also called for those responsible for the attack on innocent civilians to be identified, prosecuted and held accountable.
