The Kwara State Government has announced the release of 176 residents abducted during the February 3, 2026 attack on Woro and Nuku communities in Kaiama Local Government Area.

The announcement was made on Wednesday through the state government’s official Facebook page, “Alhamdulillah,” which expressed gratitude to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, security agencies, and everyone involved in securing the victims’ release.

The victims were kidnapped after suspected Boko Haram-linked militants launched a coordinated attack on the two communities. The assault, which lasted several hours, reportedly claimed more than 200 lives, destroyed homes and businesses, injured several residents, and displaced many families.
