Desmond Elliot has officially withdrawn from his political ambition to retain the Surulere Constituency I seat in the Lagos State House of Assembly.
In a statement personally shared on his social media handle on Wednesday, Elliot, who is the incumbent lawmaker representing the constituency, explained that his supporters were denied access to the venue of the APC primary election.
Reacting to the allegation, Bamidele Yusuf stated that the environment remained peaceful, adding that accreditation and voter registration commenced ahead of the scheduled voting time.
The council chairman dismissed the claims made by the lawmaker on social media, noting that some party primary elections had already been concluded before proceedings moved to the House of Assembly category.
Meanwhile, it has been reported that Elliot’s fourth-term ambition to represent Surulere Constituency I in the Lagos State House of Assembly has fueled political tension between him and Femi Gbajabiamila.
The political disagreement between both actors is yet to be resolved, despite Elliot’s determination to contest the APC primaries for the Assembly seat.
