Senator Adams Oshiomhole has criticised the Minister of Works, David Umahi, over what he described as the neglect of key federal highways linking Edo and Delta states.

Speaking during plenary at the National Assembly, the Edo North senator questioned the approval of 20 new road projects while several major highways remain in poor condition.

Oshiomhole said roads connecting Benin, Warri, Asaba, Auchi, and Okene have become difficult to use due to severe deterioration, affecting commuters and economic activities.

He also alleged that the affected road corridors have not received adequate funding in recent budget cycles.

The senator called on the leadership of the National Assembly to summon the Minister of Works and ensure a more balanced approach to road development, with greater attention given to maintaining existing federal highways.
