Senator representing the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Ireti Kingibe, has expressed concern over the worsening living conditions in Nigeria, stating that citizens are increasingly overwhelmed by daily survival challenges.
Speaking during an appearance on Prime Time on Arise Television, the lawmaker highlighted rising insecurity, economic hardship, and declining public services as major issues affecting Nigerians.
Kingibe noted that food insecurity has reached unprecedented levels, while taxes have become burdensome, with expectations of further increases. She also pointed to persistent electricity challenges and deteriorating communication services as signs of systemic decline.
According to her, the country is facing a broad collapse in essential sectors, making daily life increasingly difficult for citizens.
She said the current situation goes beyond political ambitions, emphasizing that Nigerians are primarily concerned with improving their quality of life.
The senator also welcomed the emergence of opposition alliances driven by national interest rather than personal gain, expressing hope that such collaborations could help address the nation’s pressing challenges.
