The White House says the Trump administration has banned what it describes as “birth tourism” in the United States

Deputy Chief of Staff for Policy and Homeland Security Adviser, Stephen Miller, said the new measure prevents foreign nationals from obtaining U.S. visas for the purpose of travelling to the country to give birth and secure U.S. citizenship for their children.

Miller described the policy as one of the administration’s most significant actions, accusing those involved of abusing the American immigration system.

The move is part of President Donald Trump’s broader immigration policies, including efforts to restrict birthright citizenship.

However, the administration’s attempts to end birthright citizenship have faced legal challenges.
